I just love the puffy wadding I used for this quilt. This is the cosy look I've been after for ages.
I ended up taking some of the yellow fabrics out as I felt the look was more harmonious with just a touch of it. I generally find this is a good rule to follow when using yellow as its not my favourite colour.
I've been wanting to delve into my cloud 9 stash in quite a while and it was great to find that a bit of Joel Dewberry modern meadow in pond and some Moda sunkissed complimented the range beautifully. I do have LOADS of other ranges of fabric left over that didnt make the cut, its so tricky to find the right tone on the internet, I do hope I will be able to use it for something else one day.
I love the way the hand quilting turned out on the back.
I just hope my sister likes it!
Back in a few days with an update on some new projects :-)
How pretty! Soothing and cool-looking without being boring. She's sure to love it. I like a puffier quilt, too - what did you do for the batting?
