About me...

I began this blog a year ago. I needed a hobby that would allow me to have some time for myself and I found myself enjoying sewing. I have thoroughly enjoyed making quilts and I now know I want to keep going in this direction and this year I would like to progress and learn more. I have created this blog in order to track my progression as well as share the tips I have learnt along the way.

I'm a 31 year old, busy mum of two young children and I sew/quilt when I can. I dont write posts every week, sadly, life gets in the way, but I am always working on something and I hope to share a little bit of that with you. I love reading blogs and have been so inspired by them I thought it was my turn to give something back and hopefully inspire others. Blogging also keeps me on my creative path and is a great way to show what I've made to like minded people who appreciate the creative process. I will always reply to any questions and If you would like me to post about something specific then do get in touch. Just leave a comment on one of my posts or email me direct danaandlee(AT)hotmail(DOT)co(DOT)uk Ill get back to you as soon as I can.

I have chosen to use the subtitle: Modern quilts and contemporary sewing. I'd like to address that it is the fabrics I choose to use which are modern but the quilt designs are not. When I first began quilting I would often google "modern quilts", without knowing that all of the designs are nothing new but I only learnt this from my own research and experiences, so I have chosen to keep this subtitle to make this easier for people who are new to the quilting world, like I was, and who prefer the look of modern fabrics in quilts.

Please note I am not advertising on behalf of anyone and any reviews I write are based entirely on my own views and experiences.
